FAQ:

What is CBD?
CBD is an abbreviation for “cannabidiol” and is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis. It can make up as much as 40% of the plant’s extract.  It does not have the psychoactive effects of THC, tetrahydrocannabinol, a property of marijuana.

According to many researchers, CBD may be the single most important cannabinoid ever discovered due to its enormous therapeutic potential.  CBD oil is an extraction of the cannibus plant.

What kinds of conditions can be helped with CBD Oil?
Although research up until now have been primarily on a smaller scale, there is growing evidence that CBD is effective on an impressive range of conditions – chronic pain, cancer, digestive issues, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, cardiovascular disease, antibiotic-resistant infections, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, Alzheimers, dementia and more.

Our bodies have an endocannabinoid system (ECS), but what is it?
The ECS regulates relaxation, eating, sleeping, certain inflammation responses and even cognitive function. There are two types of cannabinoid receptors found throughout the body (CB1 and CB2), but they are most abundant in the brain and immune system respectively.

Is CBD legal?
CBD is legal to be bought in all 50 states of the Serenity CBD products are fully tested and verified by third party analytical labs, and contain no more than 0.3% of THC, which is the legal limit for THC in CBD.

What is the optimal dosage of CBD?
No two people are alike, and dosages vary depending upon your condition.  An effective dosage can range from as little as a few milligrams or drops of CBD-enriched cannabis oil to nearly a full dropper. Because it’s a phytocannabinoid, there are no adverse effects of using CBD oil. You can’t overdose.

Consider two different approaches to dialing in the right dose for you and your condition
1) Dose up — Begin with a small dose of high CBD/low THC oil for the first several days. Observe the effects and if necessary adjust the ratio or amount upwards.

2) Dose down – Another suggested approach would be to start with a larger dose of three-quarters of a dropper for the first two weeks, and then dial up or down as your symptoms suggest.

If you are taking pharmaceutical drugs, you may want to use the dose up approach because CBD may increase the effectiveness of your drugs.  For this reason, it’s always advisable to consult with your doctor when using CBD oil in conjuction with pharmaceutical drugs.

Is CBD safe for children?
Because there is minor psychotropic effect from CBD, it has been shown thus far to be safe and effective for children as well as adults. In fact, some of our favorite results have been in treatment to mitigate seizures with little to know side effects as well as ADD, ADHD, depression, anxiety and sleep disorders.

What’s the best way to take CBD?
For most conditions taking a CBD-rich cannabis oil sublingually is going to be the most effective way to ingest it and also control the dosage.  Topical application is preferred for surface conditions such as back aches, fibromyalgia and neuropathy. In this case you can spray CBD oil directly onto the skin or apply it  a CBD lotion. Inhalation through a vape pen is good for treating acute symptoms especially those affecting the lungs like lung cancer.

On the market, you’ll also find CBD products that are designed to be taken orally as edibles, lozenges, beverages, and gel caps but it is arguable less predictable what percentage of CBD will be metabolized. For these reasons, Serenity CBD focuses on oils, sprays and vapes.

We have recently created chocolates with 4 mg of CBD to be palatable for children, and YES!  It’s quite tasty!

How long does it take for the effects of CBD to be felt?
The effects can be felt within ten minutes and can last for four hours or more.

Will CBD show on a drug test?
Most common drug tests are only testing for THC.  If you are consuming unusually large dosages of CBD, such as 1,000 to 2,000 milligrams per day, it could theoretically trigger a positive for THC on a urine test although we’ve never seen that to be the case.

Is it safe to inhale hemp CBD oil fumes from a vape pen?
This is a great question and one of those buyer-beware scenerios.  Many cannabis- and hemp-derived CBD vape oil products from less scrupulous manufactuers include a thinning agent such as propylene glycol. When overheated, this chemical additive produces formaldehyde, a carcinogen, as a byproduct, according to a 2015 report in the New England Journal of Medicine.  While the industry is largely unregulated, it is ever  more important to ensure you are buying from a reputable source for high-quality products like Serenity CBD.

Can CBD products be shipped to another state?
As long as CBD products contain no more than 0.3% of THC, they can be shipped across states. Serenity CBD products are fully tested and verified by third party analytical labs, and contain no more than 0.3% of THC, which is the legal limit for THC in CBD oils. Therefore, shipping our product from state to state is legal.

Questions to ask to Make Sure You’re Getting the Highest-Quality CBD

Because of the popularity of CBD right now and that there is no regulation of the cannabis oil products, the quality you find at common dispensaries or online is dubious.  Here are some questions you’ll want to ask when shopping for a high-quality CBD Oil.

What is the potency of the oil?
CBD is fat soluble, so any CBD oil will be a blend of carrier oil such as coconut or grapeseed oil.  Less scrupulous manufacturers could potentially put a small amount of CBD oil in a bottle and call it CBD oil. At Serenity CBD, ours is the highest percentage you’ll find with half carrier oil. Our oils range with a potency of 250 mg, 500 mg and a potency as high as 1000 mg per 1 gram bottle.

Does it contain THC?
Even a small amount of THC can make CBD more effective. Serenity CBD products have no more than the legal limit of THC (which is 0.3%). While there is enough THC to potentiate CBD’s curative qualities in Serenity CBD products, the effects are not psychoactive.

Is it organic?
At Serenity CBD our answer is Yes! All our plants are grown using a true living organic cultivation methodology. We feed the soil so the soil can feed the plants.

Our hemp is cultivated using living soil organic principles, leveraging strictly organic inputs and in full compliance with the controls defined by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. Our plants are some of the highest CBD cannabis varieties currently known.

Where is the CBD sourced from?
There is no way of confirming the quality of foreign sourced hemp products. The Serenity farm is located in Wheat Ridge, Colorado near the intersection of 38th and Kipling.  The farm is sustainable as well.  Come see us!

What extraction process is used?
Some extraction processes require chemical solvents which we consider to be potentially harmful to your health.  At Serenity CBD we use carbon dioxide extraction process in a state-of-the-art laboratory that is free of any residual solvents for the purest oil possible. Our extraction facilities is one of the very few licensed and certified facilities in the State of Colorado focused on whole-plant, non-psychotropic cannabinoid processing of botanical material.

What kinds of pesticides were used?
Would you want to be ingesting a highly concentrated product that had pesticides of any sort?

At Serenity CBD, our answer is NO!  We pride ourselves on lady bugs as our only pesticides. Bugs typically aren’t attracted to our high-CBD strain of hemp.

Was the hemp grown indoors or out-of-doors?
You can also rest assured that all products are tested by 3rd party analytical labs using a variety of testing methodologies to show they are free from pesticides, molds and harmful microbes.

Do they have a money-back guarantee?
At Serenity we believe in the quality of our product and the amazing healing properties of this oil so much, we offer a money-back guarantee.  There’s no risk to try it.  And we’ve never had a bottle returned.

The Importance of Choosing a Full-Spectrum CBD Oil
CBD is just one of more than a hundred healing cannabinoids found in the hemp plant.  Many products on the market contain simply the CBD because it is cheaper to produce.  Make sure to ask for a high- concentrate, full-spectrum CBD oils like ours that has up to 4x the cannabidiol concentration and a full range of terpenes to synergistically work with the CBD.

Please let me know if you have other questions you’d like me to address here.  And certainly feel free to contact me if you’d like to know more about the full-spectrum, organic oil I recommend.
