Poor food. At one point in time or another nearly every food on the face of the planet has been judged as “bad” for you. All the diet fads — low fat, high protein, low carb, no meat… now it’s gluten free. What’s a person to eat?
That’s why I was so thrilled to see that Michael Pollan’s book “In Defense of Food” which had been on PBS last fall is coming out with a community viewing version of the movie, I knew this simple sagely advice would be well received here in Denver.
Special thanks to Terry Chriswell of Mile High Natural Awakenings who’ve come on board as presenting sponsor… so it’s SHOW TIME with three viewings around town.

About the movie: Join New York Times best-selling author Michael Pollan on a fascinating journey to answer the question: What should I eat to be healthy? Busting myths and misconceptions, the 78-minute film In Defense of Food reveals how common sense and old-fashioned wisdom can help us rediscover the pleasures of eating and at the same time reduce our risks of falling victim to diet-related diseases.
Michael’s finding is that the solution to our dietary woes is in fact remarkably simple: Eat Food, Not Too Much, Mostly Plants.
A panel discussion will be held following the film to answer questions and connect attendees with local resources for fresh foods and community involvement.
